If you are a fan of cold-hardy, tropical-effect gardens then the chances are that you would be looking to add a banana to your plant collection in order to complete that exotic look. Now there are usually several species and cultivars that you can readily purchase here in the UK but just what is the worlds hardiest banana and just how hardy is it? Well, English horticulturist Simon explains all.
There are four cultivars and species that should be on your radar and those are Musa sikkimensis 'Ted Tiger, Musa basjoo, Musella lasiocarpa and Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii'. In this video English horticulturist Simon discussed the merits of them all and reveals which one is the most hardy!
